Legacy Revitalization: Westwood Project

“Our vision: A dynamic cultural hub where economic growth, culinary innovation, and community healing converge — led from the heart of the historic Westwood Theatre.”

🏛️ Legacy in Action: The Westwood Project

Our vision: A dynamic cultural hub where economic growth, culinary innovation, and community healing converge — led from the heart of the historic Westwood Theatre.

Broken Crayons Still Coloring, LLC was honored to lead the transformation vision for the historic Westwood Theatre in Toledo, Ohio — once a shuttered landmark, now reimagined as a vibrant cultural and economic hub for the Five Points & Library Village community.

Through community-centered visioning, cultural redevelopment, and strategic fundraising guidance, we helped shape a revitalization effort rooted in history, healing, and heritage.

🎯 Our Role

As legacy consultants and vision partners, we:

  • Facilitated community visioning sessions

  • Aligned redevelopment goals with grant and fund development strategies

  • Authored a culturally rooted revitalization narrative

  • Created strategic tools to build investor and partner alignment

Our Impact: This engagement helped shape conversations around equity in place-making, Black-owned redevelopment models, and sustainable community investment.

🌱 The Legacy Lives On

“The Westwood Project became a blueprint—not just for a building, but for what happens when equity, story, and strategy align.”
